    Andrea Bores
(Estado de México, México 1990/ Ciudad de México)

Andrea Bores investigates the behavior of materials and the construction of landscapes through the elements and forces that inhabit them. Her current work views the landscape as a dynamic phenomenon where perspective collapses, revealing an unstable horizon blurred by thermodynamic forces and turbulent structures. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Textile and Fashion Design from CENTRO University and previously pursued studies in Mechanical Engineering and Administration at ITESM.
Bores embraces textile fibers as her primary medium to explore nature’s intrinsic structures. By employing processes that invite randomness, she provokes interactions between natural elements and fiber or paper, compelling them to reveal their inherent patterns. She also gives meaning to these impressions through controlled, precise marks that transform into landscapes or cartographies, simulating the fragmented codes of the universe.
Her engineering background nurtured her desire to comprehend the universe through latent patterns. Her works capture the trajectory of dynamic processes, reflecting how nature dissipates energy and reshapes the landscape into a continuous, unpredictable flow. Bores believes that spaces of indeterminacy within universal phenomena hold a transformative potential that resists imposition.

  • Nostalgia | 懐かしい

Nostalgia | 懐かしい invites you into a space where memory feels close enough to touch. It captures the fleeting emotions of nostalgia—the warmth of familiarity, the ache of what’s been lost, and the beauty of moments frozen in time.

It’s the glow of a CRT TV late at night, the thrill of discovering Akira or Evangelion for the first time, and the endless summers of youth spent immersed in pixelated worlds. It’s a feeling that’s both tender and bittersweet, a reminder of a time when everything felt vivid, alive, and full of possibility.
